The EN ISO 12127 test method determines the transfer of heat by contact through protective clothing or its component materials.

ISO 12127-1:2015

Part 1: thermal transfer by contact produced by a hot cylinder. 

A metallic cylinder heated to 250 ºC is placed on the fabric sample. A calorimeter is placed on the other side of the material, measuring the temperature rise.

  • The time taken for the calorimeter to increase a temperature by 10 ºC is measured.
