PROTECTIVE CLOTHING FOR RAIN
EN ISO 343 – This European standard specifies the minimum requirements and test methods applicable to protective clothing for the effects of precipitation.
EN ISO 343 CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EN 20811
To test a hydrostatic pressure increment of (980 ± 50) Pa/min, the following samples will be made:
- Five samples to test the material before pre-treatment.
- Five samples to test the seams before pre-treatment.
- Five samples to test the material after pre-treatment with dry cleaning and/or washing.
- Four treatments to test after pre-treatment with abrasion.
- Four samples to test after pre-treatment with repeated flexion.
- Four samples to test after pre-treatment with petroleum and oil.
If a sample obtains different classes on different tests, the lowest class must be the one indicated.
Water penetration resistance Wp | Class 1 | Class 2 | Class 3 | Class 4 |
Material before pre-treatment | Wp ≥ 8000 Pa | Does not need to be tested* | Does not need to be tested* | WP≥ 20.000 Pa |
Material after each pre-treatment | Does not need to be tested* | Wp ≥ 8000 Pa | Wp ≥ 13000 Pa | – |
Seams before pre-treatment | Wp ≥ 8000 Pa | Wp ≥ 8000 Pa | Wp ≥ 13000 Pa | WP≥ 20.000 Pa |
